Hotels around the Museumplein, with the Rijksmuseum at the door
The Museumplein is a long lawn framed by the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk and the Concertgebouw. The hotels around it are spacious and calm, and the express bus from the airport stops nearby.
The square was laid out in the late nineteenth century as the city spread south beyond the canal ring, and it remains the cultural centre of Oud-Zuid. The Rijksmuseum closes its northern end and the Concertgebouw its southern, while the two other museums stand along the western side. Between them a wide lawn, a long pond and a few cafés fill with visitors by day and empty in the evening.
The hotels around the square
Hotels here are mostly in large townhouses and mansion blocks, with lifts, high ceilings and rooms bigger than those of the canal ring. Some sit on the square itself; more line the Paulus Potterstraat, the Van Baerlestraat and the streets that run toward the Vondelpark. Upper rooms in the townhouses sometimes look across the lawn to the towers of the Rijksmuseum, lit after dark. The buildings are solid and the nights quiet, which makes this cluster comfortable for a session that runs long.
From the airport
The express bus from the airport stops near the Museumplein, which means a guest can reach a hotel here without changing at Centraal. With luggage, that is a real advantage, and the bus drops you at the edge of the square, a short roll of the suitcase from most of the hotels. A taxi from the airport is straightforward too, and the train to Amsterdam Zuid followed by a tram north is another route in.
Evenings after the museums close
Once the museums close, the square empties. A few restaurants stay open on the surrounding streets, and on concert nights the Concertgebouw brings a well-dressed crowd for a few hours. Otherwise the area is calm and residential, an easy setting for an evening session. Message when you are ready to be in the room, and she will be with you forty to sixty minutes later.
Room for a longer session
The larger rooms here suit a long session or a format that asks for space. Tantra massage, which unfolds slowly, sits well in a long booking, and any session of three hours or more carries a deposit of half the fee. The comparison of airport and city hotels sets this side of the city against the rooms out by the runways for a first stay.
